Tanhaii [Loneliness]

Jogi ka ghar kitna tanhaa hai
Miil ka pathar kitna tanhaa hai

Chalta hai koii saath mere
Dil magar kitna tanhaa hai

Tanhaa aataa hai, jaataa hai
Ye bashar kitna tanhaa hai

Jivan chakra hote hai.n poore
Par safar kitnaa tanhaa hai

Kishtiyo.n ka maksad saahil hai
Ye bahar kitna tanhaa hai

Umra bhar band rahe seep mei.n
Khwab-e-guhar kitna tanhaa hai

*** *** *** *** *** *** ***

How lonely is the wanderer's home
How lonesome is the milestone

Someone walks by my side, but
The heart stands on its own

How lonely is the human being
He comes alone and goes alone

The cycles of life get over
But the journey is oh! so lone

The boats' destiny is the shore
Ocean's heart embraces cyclone

Enclosed in a shell for a lifetime
A pearl's dream remains unknown

- You wrote this - Right !!

- My fav line , chalta hai koii saath mere, dil magar kitna tanhaa hai....oopfh...how true....just like Bheed mein tanha....sath hain magar juda....Khambakht yeh dil mange more...:-)

- Somehow 4th one...can we also have some urdu word there.."jeevan chakra " is too pure a word in hindi...infact its funny I like the english version of same para.

- Lastly ( n don't punch me...lol) sab kheriyat to hain...!!

@Prashanth: Yes, I did write it. Thanks :-))
Btw, unless explicitly mentioned, the poetry I post here is my own :-)

@BTR: First and foremost, sab kushal mangal hai :-))
"Saath hain magar judaa" ... hmmm ... yes, something like that :-)
Regarding the 4th one - yes, "jeevan chakra" is too pure a hindi word to be present in a ghazal. Actually I first wrote something like "Daur guzarte jaate hain", but felt that did not convey my intention. I couldn't find another suitable word in urdu, so I resorted to "jivan chakra" ... taking inspiration from the great Dushyant Kumar :-))

Very good, Sigma!Kya Baat hai!

Won't say much since Bendtherulz has said exactly what I wanted to say. Just want to add that the thought behind 'jeevan chakra' makes it my fav sher in the Ghazal!

Hmmm beautiful lines. Now I think I'll appoint you my official translator for all my future poems. ;)

SO many posts in last one month.
You were really idling kya ?

Sigma said...

@Cuckoo: Shhhhh! Dont tell my manager ....
Not really idling, actually I am quite loaded with work - so many things to do that I cant decide which one to do :-) So I blog instead :-))
Lol!!

Jokes apart, things happened that inspired me to write something or other in this space. So there.

I am happy you liked it. And I am honored at the new appointment :-D
